Q. My child just slammed shut the sliding door now it wont lock what happened.

A. Three things can happen here massive pressure on the lock will crack the casting of the lock causing it to malfuction, the back wheel if not of high quality can load up with pressure over loading its rating causing it to shatter or crack, if door has not four wheels installed & not properly adjusted can fall of track.

Q. Just spent the last hour trying to take out my flyscreens & have damaged them what did i do wrong.

A. There is no one particular way a flyscreen fits, in general different window manufacturers have different fitment techniques & also different flyscreen manufacturers have there own way of building them also, so where does this leave you with your problem.

A good flyscreen if measured right & made right should last twenty years if cared for & not abused,you need to ask the flyscreen fitter at time of install how you will take them out & get him to take a couple out in front of you, i say this because over the years i have seen countless home owners not aware that the flyscreens they bought from fred flogs cheap screens incorp get stuck with rubbish so take some free advice ask the installer to remove a couple in front of you to make sure they fit properly....and do not let him trick you by saying he has not got the time . its a good sign they dont fit well !

Q. My husband uses WD40 to lubricate our door hinges & locks but it never seems to last long.

A. Wedo not advise using WD40 it is not a true lubricant only short term it will wash away any trace of existing factory grease in turn causing a repeat problem, simply buy a pressure pack can of quality silicon spray with a nozzle tube on it, we know many door manufacturers who do not lubricate there locks or hinges at build time passing the problem to the customer, every door we build is lubricated with a secret oil formula from the usa its just not available in Australia.

Q. Just had a stainless steel door installed yesterday & my youngest son just had an accident he walked straight into it, than we had to go seek medical help to his head injury, any thoughts on this problem.

A. This is really an invisible problem, one so many people are not being made aware of & quite frankly a time bomb waiting to happen.

Lets get down to common sense for a moment lets talk real personel safety not a retailers reason for purchase re: fashion no ugly grille.

EXAMPLE: Sliding glass doors normally have a white horizontal safety transfer stuck to the glass its only purpose is to safe guard the person by breaking the clear vision so you do not walk into it.

Originally when this new type of door was released on the market the good ones had a midrail ( midway center bar) its aim was to strengthen the mid section of the door & also break that total clear mesh look a little (prevent accidents in the home) this was good common sense design, but as always competition stepped in & offered the door minus the midrail (midway center bar) the consumer accepted the look better & so demand for this style of door dramatically increased.

We offer this type of door with or with out the mid rail.

Just remember the vast majority of new homes today have solid concrete under those tiles or carpet these doors have a capability to kick you backwards if you crash into them potentially knocking you off balance, that concrete could be devastating to the victims head...................................................
